Places History runs in the background, on your Apple Watch or iPhone to record the places you visit, and the routes you have taken. The app automatically detects when you are travelling on foot, and highlights it in your timeline, showing your route, distance, and step count. You can also bookmark your favourite locations and return to them later, view the details of the walks you\u2019ve taken, and see what the weather conditions were like during a visit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Places History can run as a stand-alone app on your iPhone, or on your watch with a companion viewer app on your iPhone. If you have it installed on both devices, you can record your location using the watch app while conveniently accessing comprehensive place details through the iPhone app. In the event that the watch app is not actively running, the phone app seamlessly takes over the task of recording your location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
